Videos at the end!
Yes, it goes without saying that street racing is bad. No need to post that here, TX2K is probably the Mecca of roll racing.
This happened on a closed course, professional Mexicans only, filmed with a potato and actually just 3D rendered with Rhino studio free edition.
Of course, some guys had some last minute wrench time before putting their cars on the trailers (or wrenched on it on the drive to Houston).
Aaaand to cap off a long drive, a longer wait in H-town traffic in your tow rigs and long trailer:
First night there, our guys got a warm welcome from the locals, they did sing us the song of their people:

The Roll Race nationals happened the next day at Texas World Speedway (which is now endangered):
Tons of unbelievably fast cars. 2000 AWHP+ street driven cars type of fast. Cars that go from 60mph to 200mph in around 1500ft before the end of the back straight at Texas World Speedway type of fast.
The map:
Blown engine right at the start, 4 years of hard boost on the engine so it was on borrowed time.
Our very own "NATROUS."

This is where the drag racing was supposed to start. Instead, the greater Houston area got a lot of rain. As in the track was flooded in many areas.
So some of the guys got creative!
Laser targeting activated:)
The rain never let off enough to let the racing resume.
Everybody started to pack up for some very long drives home. Until next year!

Luckily, from what the owner stated the car managed to make it out without too much damage.
I believe it was the fault of the shipper they'd contracted with. Could have ended up much worse:

Hey, I heard something unfortunate about High Tech Corvette, do you know what happened? I know at the moment he's fine now, but did he really get...caught...

A few people got arrested, but I haven't heard anything about it.
I'm going to just guess that they're keeping it quiet for the sake of their Lawyer's sanity.

What the shit?
This is why you go on yelp before having your car shipped.

Heard about "Bane." Wish I'd had a chance to make it this year. Maybe next time.
